Public Works
Welcome to the Public Works Department.
Our job is to maintain City Streets, storm sewers, all City parks, City airport and City-owned buildings and property. The Public Works Department provides maintenance for City ball diamonds and maintains all City-owned equipment.
The Public Works Department is governed by several committees; these include the street committee, parks and recreation board, airport commission, utilities board and the tree board. The Public Works Department consists of six employees, with one being partially funded through the parks budget.
Hours
Public Works regular work hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Our office and shop are located at 507 North Old Highway 61 (next to Maquoketa Electrical Power Plant). Our working hours telephone number is 563-652-4628. If there is an emergency after hours, please call the Maquoketa Police Department at 563-652-2468.

Snow Removal

Birch Drive Brush Area
There is a brush site that is located at the south end of Birch Drive. For more information and rules as to what can be brought into the site and who can use the site, please refer to the download center in the left hand menu.
Yard Waste Program
The City offers a yard waste pickup program on a prepaid basis. For more information, please refer to the download center in the left hand menu.

City Boat Ramp
There is a new boat ramp and river trail located at North 5th Street.
